THE ALGARVE NATURE WEEK

The "Algarve Nature Week" is organized by the Algarve Tourism Board, with the support of Turismo de Portugal and the partnership of several entities.
 
For nine days (11-19 April), the event offers more than 90 outdoor activities at friendly prices, including hiking, bird and cetacean watching, boat trips, cycling, horse and donkey tours, under water activities, etc.
 
The Algarve Promotion Bureau is responsible for the organization of a familiarisation trip for tourism trade professionals from different European countries, from the 15th to the 18th of April. These professionals will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the region’s tourism offer and exchange opinions and ideas with local entrepreneurs.
 
Finally, from the 17th to the 19th of April, between 10 am and 6 pm, an exhibition will be held at Faro's waterfront park (Parque Ribeirinho), with the participation of several regional operators and stakeholders.
 
The Algarve is the most popular tourist destination in Portugal, receiving an average of 7 million foreign tourists each year. CCDR ALGARVE

The Regional Development and Coordinating Commission of the Algarve (CCDR Algarve) is a public body charged to execute a broad regional development policy, including city policies, environment, management of the territory, conservation of the nature and biodiversity, sustainable use of the natural resources, urban requalification, regional strategic planning and support to the local municipalities and its associations.

CCDR is also responsible for implementing the Algarve’s Regional Operational Program, co-funded by EU structural funds. It is a partner of the Enterprise Europe Network since 2008.
 

ALGARVE TOURISM BOARD (Entidade Regional de Turismo do Algarve)

The Algarve Regional Tourism Board is a legal person governed by public law, covering an area corresponding to the 16 municipalities of the Algarve and enjoying complete administrative and financial autonomy, as well as ownership of its own assets.

Its mission is to promote the development of tourism in the Algarve, through the improvement and qualification of the territory and the promotion of the region as a tourist destination, in cooperation with the public and private sectors, for the benefit of the economy and quality of life in the region and the country as a whole.

ALGARVE PROMOTION BUREAU (Associação Turismo do Algarve)

The Algarve Promotion Bureau is a legal entity under private law, that operates as a non-profit-making association with the following aims:

1) To promote and disseminate the Algarve as a tourist destination and highlight regional products by carrying out studies, and planning and developing specific events on external markets;

2) To liaise with public and private entities with a view to defining policies, objectives and strategies to promote tourism in the Algarve overseas.
